The Future….. An exciting, but daunting reality for students. Every student strive to graduate from college, UNCG, with the intention of being successful in their profession or life. So with that goal in mind, how does UNCG help current students strive to reach it?
According to current students from UNCG that took a survey on how they are being prepared for the future, this is what some of them had to say:
Who are some notable UNCG alumni? ( Can be famous or just personal people you know!)
“Mark Hens”
“Joanne Drane (one of the first african american students at UNCG's campus in 1956 while UNCG was a women's college)”
“Paul Chelima”
How does UNCG help students prepare for their future jobs/internships?

“They offer many opportunities right here on campus to allow you to get an internship and also field training for your future career.”
“Internships”
“They give the students reliable resources to get what they want.”
“By offering Career fairs and networking.opportunities”

What is some advice you would give potential Spartans about how to use UNCG resources to prepare for the future?

“To explore all the resources on campus because you never know when you might need them!”
“Meet with your advisor”
“Use each thing to the advantage.”
“Make sure to take advantage of any resources given.”
“Use all your available resources especially tutoring and the people with your major's department they are here to help.”
“Just take advantage of them”
Lastly, what is a tool that you feel is essential for a Spartan when preparing for the future? ( Agenda, To-do List, Notebook of people you networked with, etc)
“Definitely a calendar or journal to plan things out and to prioritize.”
“Planner, Reminders, Advisors, etc.”
“Agenda is something that will keep us organized and on track.”
“To-do List!”
“A planner and making good connections with persons of good rank and notably. I for example networked with a law professor and she lead me to great opportunities.”
“An Agenda and a outline for their years in college”
Even though this is specific for my university, it is very important that all students know what their school offer them post-graduation. College goes by fast, so it is great when your university helps you look forward, so you don’t feel overwhelmed on the day that you turn your tassel. Reach out to alumni that are in your field. Reach out to the career specialist at your university. In a nutshell, just network and ask questions, so you are as prepared as possible.
